Leading the way in Fishing Safety Management

The Fishing First Safety Management System pilot project will look at the infrastructural needs to support health and safety in the fishing industry, now and in the future. New regulations have been introduced that effect the way that fishing vessels are required to be managed, but there is also a lack of co-ordinated support.
Our pilot scheme will support 50 vessels through their compliance with the FSM Code, by giving direct help and encouragement in compliance with the Fishing Safety Management Code (FSM). The FSM Code was published by the MCA in 2017 and sets out the requirements of a management system to manage health, safety and welfare.

Getting Help

Improving safety management doesn't have to cost you more, it should actually cost you less. For most vessels it is just about being more organised and introducing a whole system approach, to be able to evidence with confidence how it is that your vessel is kept safe. The SafetyFolder will be working with local Advisors, Consultants and Auditors to ensure you have the necessary support to develop a practical and easy to understand safety management system.
